Leesa Fountain Creative Director at FlyingTeeth
I don't want to miss a beat − that's why I travel. I'm in love with the potential of what I've never experienced. A new taste. A new smell. A new sound. A new rhythm. A new beat. It's the stories I collect and the people I meet along the way that give me so much to share. As a hospitality consultant, I'm interested in the dialogue between the host and the traveler. I believe that good hosts and good travelers have the greatest potential to transform the world for the better. Both have the power to drive (social, economic + environmental) change through their interactions with the world.
I am excited to help business leaders uncover opportunities in this space by examining their current situation, setting measurable goals and developing innovative frameworks. By helping hotels integrate (economically, culturally and environmentally) sustainable practices into their business model, we can drive the shift towards more responsible, equitable and profitable enterprises.
Prior to joining FlyingTeeth, Leesa worked as an eco-tourism and marketing manager at Tiamo Resorts – the Bahamas’s only solar-powered, earth-kind luxury resort. She also worked with Cape Eleuthera’s Island School and Institute in an effort to expose tourists to a series of research projects that aim to protect the very resources that people journey to the Bahamas to enjoy in the first place – fish in the sea, birds in the sky, etc.
Leesa received a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in International Business and Italian Cultural Studies. When she’s not off trying to convince someone that sustainability is about more than just dealing with climate change, she enjoys running with her dog, jazz music, taking photographs and soaking up the sun with a good book. She is an avid traveler and has studied and tutored in Canada, Italy, Spain and the United States.
