Online Travel Agencies like Expedia and Travelocity have often been a conundrum for small boutique hotels. Boutique hotel operators seeking to take advantage of these powerful distribution systems often find that the time and effort to effectively manage the data required for effective use of these mediums conflicts with day-to-day management requirements. FlyingTeeth offers Online Travel Agency management services for small boutique hotels to mitigate these conflicts.
We provide the following:
I. Initial setup with Expedia, Travelocity + Orbitz
II. Daily management of inventory and pricing as reflected against your inventory and pricing
III. Minimum bi-weekly personal contact with your person or persons responsible for inventory and sales for updates regarding inventory and pricing
IV. Bi-weekly strategy recommendations for moving unsold inventory within these systems
As small hoteliers − we know that the single best option for your bottom line is to sell rooms at full rate with as close to a 100% occupancy as possible. We also know that this is difficult to achieve and that the effective use of Online Travel Agencies can move rooms that your normal sales processes might not be able to. The challenge is to do this in a way that provides you with the highest ADR and the highest possible occupancy.
For example, we know that in the Caribbean and Central America during March you have the greatest opportunity for full rate sales with a very high occupancy. Consequently − we would minimize inventory with the Online Travel Agencies for the period and adjust rates to push sales directly to your hotel. On the other hand − in October − we would increase your Online Travel Agency inventory and create incentive rates to help increase your occupancy during these off-season periods.
Not only do we provide dedicated staff to insure the best possible results, but we also offer the day-by-day management that these systems require and that you as a small hotel operator don’t have the time or personnel to commit to. Large hoteliers have people specifically dedicated to this task − you can’t afford that. How can we? By managing a bouquet of small hotels − we can spread costs across a number of hotel properties.
Services Charges
For hotels with 20 rooms and less we charge a base of US $150 per month and 1.5% of all successful sales after $150. So if we sell $20,000 worth of rooms in a month the total cost that month would be $300.
For hotels with 20 to 50 rooms the base rate is $250 per month and 2% of all successful sales after $250.
*We require a six month commitment but offer a 30 day notice cancellation policy.
